The land was passed down from father to son for thousands of years
Saffron grows best in land with cold weather and dry ground. The land of Mashhad is perfect for this. Hence why most of the worlds saffron comes from these lands.
The new generation took a university educated approach to farming and perfected the art, thus modernised farming of saffron came into place and revolutionised the quality and purity of the spice.
The land that had been used for growing saffron for thousands of years is now being optimised and modernised to produce the best saffron to come out of Iran.
